2M CEO Tea Dietterich was honoured to be joining fellow industry leaders in the inaugural NAATI TRAC meeting held in Canberra last Thursday 9th of February.
The NAATI Board of Directors has recently approved the establishment of the Technical Reference Advisory Committee (TRAC) to provide advice on a range of industry policy issues and to support NAATI in managing some of the most significant changes in its 40-year history. After conducting a competitive and highly successful application process, NAATI is pleased to announce the appointment of ten members to the TRAC.
In announcing the TRAC appointees, Chair of the NAATI Board Kerry Stubbs said, “this was an extremely competitive process and the standard of applicants was very high which is a good indication of the extent of engagement and I thank all applicants for their interest. The Board is very happy with the overall composition and has no doubt it will provide excellent support to the Board and management”.
The Committee will be chaired by Associate Professor Ludmila Stern who recently finished a six-year term as a Director on the NAATI Board. Ms Stubbs added that “having an immediate past Director as Chair will ensure strategic alignment of the TRAC with the Board’s direction. Ludmila is aware of the issues and priorities facing NAATI and therefore where the TRAC can add the most value”.
The members of the TRAC include:
- Associate Professor Ludmila Stern (Chair)
- Ms Tea Dietterich
- Mr Adolfo Gentile
- Ms Magdalena Rowan
- Ms Gulnara Abbasova
- Dr Marc Orlando
- Ms Patricia Avila
- Ms Sandra Leane
- Mr David Deck
- Ms Ranja Zayed
NAATI CEO Mark Painting said that “this is a highly reputable group of individuals that collectively has expertise in key areas right across the translating and interpreting sector”.
“With such a significant work program over the next year or two, having access to such a body of knowledge and experience will be invaluable. I’m looking forward to working with this Committee,” Mr Painting said.
The TRAC members commenced their terms in January 2017.
