The QLD Chapter of the German-Australian Chamber of Industry and Commerce invited its valued members and associates to kick off an exciting year of events and attend a special New Year’s Reception at the Queensland Museum. 2M CEO Tea Dietterich sits on the Executive of the QLD Chapter and is excited to be back in Brisbane after 5 years predominantly in the 2M Europe Office in Paris. “Given that I started at the German-Australian Chamber of Industry & Commerce 20 years ago when I came to Australia, it is a special pleasure to be working on German-Australian trade relations and furthering strong Chamber activities in QLD” said Tea on Tuesday night.
The Queensland Museum set up a display of objects from its State Collection related to transport and logistics and the Museum’s social history curator was also on hand to discuss the objects with the guests.
In this inspiring venue of The Lost Creatures Gallery, the QLD Chapter welcomed guests to the year 2017, presented an overview of planned activities for their special 40th anniversary year and provided the opportunity to network and enjoy the evening with members, associates and the QLD Chapter Executive and Board Member Jackie Taranto.
The Chamber also had the honour to welcome Ms Di Farmer MP, Member for Bulimba and Deputy Speaker of the Queensland Parliament and Prof Michael Rosemann, Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany, who launched together with QLD Chapter Executives Sabina Langenhan and Tea Dietterich the exciting new seminar series “When David meets Goliath”. The ‘David meets Goliath’ seminar series is one of the first of its kind – an event dedicated to connecting corporate and start-up Australia. This series will be a unique opportunity to gain first hand insights into a fascinating topic and will cover various industries featuring innovative collaborations in an effort to provide all participants with guidance on how to better engage between these two communities.
This initiative is driven by Her Excellency Dr Anna Prinz, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in collaboration with the Queensland Chapter German-Australian Chamber of Industry and Commerce & German Honorary Consul, Brisbane.
Driving Innovation is the driving force for the QLD Chapter in 2017 and for the QLD Chapter Executives Sabina Langenhan, Tea Dietterich, Richard Holy, Susan Rix, Ron Pennekamp and Dr Frank Leschhorn.
