Melbourne, Australia – May 2026
2M Language Services is proud to announce that it has been selected as a successful recipient under the Australian Government’s Workforce Australia Local Jobs, Local People grants program for its new initiative:
Employment Through Language
The program is a structured pre-employment and employment initiative designed to support individuals from priority cohorts across inner Metropolitan Melbourne into sustainable employment pathways as interpreters and in language-related roles.
The initiative responds to growing workforce demand across interpreting, multilingual customer engagement, language access and culturally responsive service delivery sectors, while also supporting greater economic participation for bilingual and multilingual Australians.
The grant was announced by the Hon Amanda Rishworth MP, Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations, as part of the Australian Government’s investment into locally driven employment solutions across the country.
Under the program, participants will receive a combination of:
- industry induction and employability training
- interpreter pathway support
- mentoring and job readiness development
- work-integrated learning opportunities
- NAATI credential preparation support
- employment pathway assistance into interpreting and language-related roles
The program will support both participants with existing interpreting studies as well as bilingual individuals seeking to enter the sector for the first time through structured training and workforce pathways.
Tea Dietterich, CEO of 2M Language Services, said the initiative reflects the growing importance of multilingual capability within Australia’s workforce and broader economy.
“Language skills are economic skills. Australia’s diversity represents an enormous workforce opportunity, particularly in sectors where communication, accessibility and cultural capability are becoming increasingly critical.”
“Employment Through Language is designed to create real employment pathways while strengthening Australia’s multilingual workforce capability and language access ecosystem.”
2M Language Services has extensive experience delivering interpreting, translation, localisation and multilingual stakeholder engagement services at scale across government, healthcare, education, infrastructure, defence, community and corporate sectors.
The company will work collaboratively with employment services providers, training partners, industry stakeholders and employers to support participant outcomes and long-term workforce participation.
