After becoming the only Australian-based language service provider to achieve ISO certification 17100:2015 for translation services earlier this year, 2M achieves certification for two new ISO standards: ISO 18841:2018 for interpreting services and ISO 9001:2015 for quality management. These globally recognised quality standards attest to 2M’s capabilities in executing clear and transparent processes and standards of quality in the way the company delivers services to its clients.

ISO 18841:2018 standard

This standard responds to the need to provide general service requirements for the provision of quality interpreting services. It provides requirements and recommendations for the delivery of spoken and signed communication across languages and societal contexts and throughout interpreting specialisations. The scope of this standard applies to in-person, over-the-phone, and video remote community interpreting; in-person conference interpreting; remote simultaneous interpreting; in-person, over-the-phone, and video remote interpreting for businesses, courts, law enforcement, healthcare providers; in-person sight translation.

ISO 9001:2015 standard

This standard provides the fundamental concepts, principles and vocabulary for quality management systems (QMS) and provides the foundation for other QMS standards. This standard attests that 2M understands and applies the fundamental concepts, principles and vocabulary of quality management, and effectively and efficiently manages a QMS and realises value from other QMS standards. The scope of this standard applies to all translation and interpreting services.
