The Australian Ambassador to Germany, Mr. David Ritchie AO, is currently attending to duties in Australia; on the occasion of his visit to Brisbane last week, Kristian Wolf (Executive Director of the German-Australian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, GACIC) and our 2M General Manager Susanne Creak were given the opportunity to brief His Excellency as well as the Deputy State Director of DFAT’s Qld State Office, Dario Morosini, on the upcoming establishment of a Queensland Chapter of the GACIC.

The German-Australian Chamber had announced their plans for a Queensland Chapter at their last AGM. 2M has been a member of the Chamber since 1999; Susanne is part of the Qld Chapter Committee and looking forward to actively contributing to the promotion of German-Australian trade in our Sunshine State. Preparations are ongoing for the official launch later this year. Mr. Ritchie and Mr. Morosini very much welcomed this important step and a number of possible opportunities and areas to advance trade activities between the two countries were discussed.
