Premier of Queensland Export Awards 2017
On 19th November 2017 the Queensland Export Awards winners were announced at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. The Export Awards recognise each year excellence in international trade of the Sunshine State’s exporters and showcase the inspiring stories of courageous exporters conquering the world. It was a formidable lineup and wonderful to see all those winners together, all of them being champions in their own right.
It was a grand night with all QLD Trade Commissioners from across the world attending including our new Qld Trade Commissioner for Europe, the Agent-General Linda Apelt together with the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Austrade and Trade and Investment QLD.
As a passionate supporter of Australian exporters and an exporter in her own right, 2M Language Services was yet again a sponsor of the Queensland Export Awards as well as the New South Wales Export Awards. In Queensland, 2M sponsored the Export Award in the Education & Training Category and our CEO Tea Dietterich stated in her speech that international education services contribute 3.25 Billion AUD a year to QLD’s state economy. Congratulations to all players of the export industry including the Cairns College of English & Business who won that category yet again.

At The Star in Sydney, the NSW Export Awards were no less a grand affair. 2M sponsored the Innovation in Export category and Tea quoted Steve Jobs when presenting the winners, Freelancer.com, with the award: ”Innovation distinguishes a leader from a follower. “
And that’s what we saw that night. An impressive crowd of leaders in their own industries, being finalists and winners and setting benchmarks for others to come.

Exporters improve economic activity and boost jobs
Chief Executive Officer of the Export Council of Australia (ECA) Lisa McAuley said that as a leading advocate for international trade, the ECA, in conjunction with the NSW and QLD Governments were honoured to manage these state-wide competitions where nominees secure their reputation on the world stage.
Acknowledging exporters is vital in building awareness of new market opportunities available to business owners. We are seeing more and more new companies that are exporting their goods and services with excellent results, and now is the time to focus on how we can help build on trade capabilities and encourage more companies to look at the global opportunities that are opening up.
These awards acknowledge the significant achievements that exporters have made to improving the economic activity and boosting jobs.
Businesses have the innovation, expertise and professionalism to take on international markets, and it is important that we recognise their hard work and determination to succeed.
“Whether small or large, these businesses prove that they have what it takes to succeed on an increasingly competitive world stage,” Ms McAuley said.
